Dallas Convention Center

This was a decent enough place for a big event. It's not too far away from everything else that you miss out on any of the local action.

This is a decent enough aquarium and zoo, but it's organized poorly. You have to follow a path through the exhibits, meaning that a crowd can hold up hundreds of people if they take too long at any exhibit, which happened frequently while I was there.

    The Sixth Floor Museum

12.13 mi from Dallas Convention Center
    29 reviews

Formerly the Texas School Book Depository, the Sixth Floor Museum chronicles the life, death and legacy of President John F. Kennedy. I was able to stand directly where the supposed shooter stood in the fated window on the sixth floor. Make sure to ask about the oral history project, which has over a thousand recordings from people in the 1960s ...

The gardens were gorgeous. We found Snow White wandering the grounds. The kids were pleasantly surprised. Each fairy tale castle was unique and displayed the real story before Disney glorified them. :) the bullfrog fountains were amazing. And the added Cinderella carriage photo op was awesome. Would def love to see it in the spring.

    20 reviews

The venue is a great location to watch the Dallas Mavericks NBA team or Dallas Stars NHL teams. They also regularly host concerts, circus and other special events. The food taste and price options inside are typical of a large venue. Just outside of the venue are a handful of restaurants and bars.

This is a nice (and safe) area to walk around with several museums, restaurants and parks. So, if you are looking for a hotel to stay in downtown, I would recommend keeping this area in mind, so you can actually go out and walk around and get to see a bit of Dallas.

This is one of the most beautiful campuses I have ever seen. My daughter attended a science summer camp here with access to many of the other programs and buildings during the event. For all sports buffs, this is a must see stadium, and for all of the not-so-sports-buffs this is not a very fun stadium to go to unless it is during the Texas State Fair. Some of the lower-level seats can have an obstructed view and the high-level seats can make you feel a little disconnected. I've been many a times ...
