Great place by the river; my brother loves the arcade games here, so this is one of our musts when we're in Taiwan. The machines suck you and your money in, so set aside only a certain amount of money to play arcade games/play the claw machines. There's a really neat Turkish ice cream stand nearby; they give you a bit of a show in the process of making your ice cream cone! Mister Donut is nearby too.

One of the top tourist destinations in Taipei! Beautiful waterfront with tons of street food vendors and souvenir shops! There is something for everyone. Games for kids, bars for young adults and an assortment of herbal stores for those that like eastern herbs! Great date spot as well! Make a trip here!Recommended for:Family Travelers

Danshui is like a sea port. There's the old part of the port that has tons of food and souvenir vendors. The "iron eggs", the huge ice cream cone, fried quail eggs, stinky tofu on a stick, and Taiwanese sausages are a must try here. Take a ferry boat ride over to the new part of the port to visit the tower, which is much like the Space Needle in Seattle. There is a viewing deck on top, with the circular dome on top constantly spinning slowly, so you can get a view of the city from all angles.

Danshuei is one of my favorite cities in Taiwan. It's right along the coast, and has one of the most famous night markets in Taipei county. The Danshui night market is several streets long- "Old street" has food vendors that sell seafood snacks, iron eggs, and pastires of all sorts that the city is known for. Along the coast, you can find carnival game after carnival game to try with friends. If you're really feeling adventurous, take the ferry to Bali Island, across from Danshuei, and visit one of its enchanting coffeeshops!

Danshui is a large tourist area on the ocean that offers beautiful scenery. Also - and this is very typical of Taiwan - where there are tourists, there are streets offering lots of interesting traditional foods. It's a nice place to spend an afternoon enjoying the sun and ocean breeze while you take in some of the local favorites - whether it's the super-tall ice cream cone that they'll make for you for about $1.50 or the traditional "Iron Egg", it's all fun and tasty.

Danshui is really neat. Like most places in Taipei, the subway makes it really easy to get to. The water and boats are beautiful at sunset. It is still an urban area, but far enough removed that you can chill, sit on some rocks and see tiny crabs. The market here is great too.

Lots to do here. It's like a small boardwalk, although I'm basing that on what I've seen of boardwalks in movies and pictures. I've only been to one in real life and that was a while ago). There are lots of people, but if you come during the morning on a weekday, it probably wouldn't be so bad. This is perfect place for a date. Walking along the river, eat at a nice cafe that faces the river, stroll along the streets, explore the many little shops. If I had had more time, I would have gone again!
