In Texas, football is a religion. Like the great schism between Protestants and Catholics, in Texas football, you're either a Longhorn (Hook 'em Horns!) or an Aggie (Gig 'em Aggies!). But if you're an Austin, it's best to be a Longhorn when you go the cathedral of Texas football - Darrell K. Royal Stadium known colloquially as Texas Stadium. Expect lots of fanfare, tailgate parties before and all the trappings a culture in communion with its heros. If you go to Texas and don't experience the fervor of football fever, you haven't experienced Texas. This is 'Friday Night Lights' for real, ya'll.Recommended for:

This stadium seems endless once you enter. The massive amounts of people that flow into it on game day will leave you breathless. Take advantage of all of the great bars that surround the stadium. You really don't even need to go inside because a lot of the fun is outside of it.

Incredible place to watch a football game! After the end-zone expansion the stadium gets so loud during games. Fans flock to the city on game-day and turn the downtown area into a giant tailgate. Just before the football game begins people converge on this stadium and it becomes one of the best places to watch a football game in the country.
