Though a part of a chain of hotels, Days Hotel certainly stands out as unique in many ways. Right off the 1/2/3 trains at 96th Street, the spacious lobby offers a feeling of grandeur, though the slightest trace of tackiness, with marble floors and bronze decorations. The concierge in front can also help you plan a day or just a quick evening on the town. Through the lobby, a business center and gym offer guests simple amenities. Head in the excruciatingly slow elevator upstairs to a series of twisting hallways practically illuminated by pink carpet, and arrive at your spacious room (by NYC standards). For a budget hotel, the space certainly has a classy, if not a bit dated, feel to it, and rates can be negotiated for longer term stays. Breakfast deals ($6.75) at Europa Cafe across the street can be purchased at the front desk, but plenty of equally affordable options also exist in the neighborhood.Recommended for:

The décor may not be the most modern but the size of the rooms makes up for it. There is a good amount of walking space between the beds and desk in addition to the amenities you would need like a hair dryer, iron board and coffee and tea maker.
The staff is helpful. There is a staff member in the lobby that can help guests purchase tickets to tours around the city and to the airport.
There’s also a bunch of amenities I didn’t expect at this hotel. There’s a business center with computers you can use, a fitness room with a couple of machines and vending machines for late night soda pop runs. While complimentary breakfast isn’t offered, they do have a breakfast special that can be purchased when you check in.Recommended for:
