Daytona Beach is close to my current home town. My parents retired here 12 years ago. The beach is nice and the weather is great most of the year. You can find most restaurants here locally. Orlando is 1.5 hours away. There is a cool lighthouse in Ponce Inlet. If you like racing of motorcycles, this is the place for that! Bike week happens twice a year and more than a million motorcycles show up for the event!Recommended for:

Daytona Beach is a nice beach town along the coast of Florida. Some of the places look like it is a little past its prime, but the beaches are still nice and a relaxing way to enjoy Daytona.Recommended for:

Daytona Beach the “World’s Most Famous Beach” is a 23-mile long stretch of white sandy beach that allows vehicle driving during daylight hours, and offers nearly every water sport imaginable as well as a lively boardwalk. Enjoy old-fashioned beachfront fun: shops, arcades, amusements and a classic pier stretching a quarter mile into the ocean. The beach is always open and free to pedestrians. Lots of restrooms and restaurants. Rent a scooter, bicycle, or go-cart to cruise the beach. Visit Daytona Beach and find out why this is the best beach on the east coast!

Beautiful beach. A bit crowded the day we were there, but to be expected considering the heat. Driving on the beach proved to be pretty easy considering the crowd. Definitely would go back again.

Had a great time here with my Uncle Bunt and Aunt Francis while on leave from Fort Benning. I lost my High School class ring in the surf here when I was caught in a rip tide. My Aunt and Uncle are both gone now.
