What's better than being welcomed to a hotel with a smile? Being welcomed with a smile and a warm chocolate chip cookie! Mmm...
Sure, with its downtown location and proximity to the convention centre, the Delta Suites Vancouver is predominantly a business hotel. But, for more reasons than just the cookies, it appeals to leisure travelers too. As the name suggests, all of its rooms are suites. That means the rooms are bigger than average and perfect if you’re traveling with kids. Some of the Delta rooms even have a queen size bed plus a pull-out couch so can easily sleep 2 adults and 2 kids. Inside the room is everything you need including a bathroom, mini-fridge, TV, coffee/tea maker, and completely free WiFi (which is not always the case at Vancouver business hotels!).
The hotel restaurant is only open for breakfast and lunch, but the lounge on the ground level is open late and serves light meals and snacks. There's also no shortage of restaurants and cafes in walking distance, plus food carts during the day. The fitness centre is modern and is open 24-hours – a nice touch if you’re jet-lagged and waking up early.
As one of the other reviewers mentioned, it’s a bit confusing to find the entrance the first time you go here (especially if you’re coming by skytrain). The address may be on West Hastings, but the entrance is on Seymour Street.Recommended for:

The Delta Suites is clearly a business hotel, located near the CBD and next to Simon Fraser University’s Centre for Dialogue, Being attached to a space designed for international conferences, the hotel benefits from an architecturally impressive lobby that makes it seem like you’ve stepped into something bigger than the hotel itself.
The women at the front desk and the concierge were friendly and helpful, and instantly brought a sense of warmth to what could easily be an impersonal space. Unlike other business hotels where I tend to feel anonymous, here I felt noticed.
The floor-to-ceiling windows in the rooms allow for lots of light, but ask for a room higher up if you want a view (some of the lower levels look onto another building). For $50, you can upgrade to Delta’s Signature Club Suite, which includes breakfast, hors d’oeuvres and an honour bar in the exclusive club lounge. If you’re two people, then it’s probably worth it since breakfast alone can get pricey these days. But the lounge itself wasn’t anything special. I could see reading the paper, having some brekkie, and heading out.
Overall, Delta Suites is a good option for what it is (corporate, slightly more affordable than luxury hotels), but I would spend a few extra bucks to stay somewhere with more character.Recommended for:

The problem with Delta Vancouver Suites is that it’s not easy to find. Sure, it is easy to find the hotel through Delta’s website and it’s easy enough to get directions with your favourite map software but once you’ve arrived at the particular address, there’s not much to indicate that you’ve actually arrived at a hotel. That’s not to say that it’s not a nice hotel though.
Inside a rather nondescript exterior (after entering through awkward doors), guests are presented with a hotel lobby that insulates them from the busyness of West Hastings and Seymour in downtown Vancouver. The lobby isn’t as grand as some of the other large hotels downtown but what really strikes the eye is the atrium that is open to the second and third floors above, giving a modern conference centre feeling. There are stairs proudly marching between all three floors which is particularly useful for those guests using the facilities at the adjacent Morris J Wosk Centre for Dialogue.
The hotel staff are friendly yet quite casual, giving it that “every person’s” feeling.
The lounge, Spencer’s and the restaurant, Manhattan are not huge but serve their purpose. Manhattan feels a bit like a cafeteria but it still has a standard selection of breakfast choices so don’t let the dated decor dissuade you.
The suites and hallways also seem to be in need of a little updating as far as decor and fittings but each suite has all of the expected amenities and is roomy enough. Some rooms are equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows and the hotel orientation gives some rooms a view over historic and trendy Gastown to Burrard Inlet.

This has been by far the best hotel ever. The panoramic view from a room is amazing!!! and spacious. The view itself is worth seeing. The staff is helpful and friendly. They will even let you borrow an umbrella if you need one for those rainy days. There is a business room that is quite helpful if you need to fax or use the internet. Becareful of the ATM machine there though in the Lobby! It didn't give me the right amount of money and pretty much took my 20 dollars. :(Recommended for:
