    16th Street Mall

    4
    41 reviews

16th Street Mall is a pedestrian street that runs through the heart of downtown Denver. It's lined with shops--mom & pop as well as franchises--bars, restaurants, a movie theater...pretty much a little bit of everything. Best of all, are the live performers that come out during the lunch hour and on weekend evenings. A great place to stroll, buy souvenirs, ...

    Denver Zoo

    4.5
    31 reviews

Excellent zoo. Highlights include the komodo dragons, the orangutans, and the big cats. Some of the cages are showing their age. Hopefully the zoo will upgrade some of these enclosures so the animals have more room to roam.

    Denver Botanic Gardens

We have a family membership to the gardens and it is worth every penny. Whether it is taking the kids in the summer to view the Koi pond, or strolling in winter to the see holiday lights, I love this place. It is always well maintained with something new to see!

    Larimer Square

    4
    26 reviews

A block of historic buildings housing lots of good restaurants and shopping. It's a bit misleading that it's called Larimer Square -- that made me, at least, think it was an actual neighborhood (or even an actual square around a park or something) -- since it really is just one block of street. However, it's still a nice area with ...

    Downtown Aquarium

    4.5
    20 reviews

Even though it's on the smallish side, Denver's Aquarium still offers plenty of interesting exhibits with a wide variety of animals. It also caters to kids - beware: during weekdays, you might run in to rowdy school groups - with birthday packages and educational classes. The Mermaid exhibit has to be one of the quirkiest kid-friendly programs, where you can ...

    Invesco Field At Mile High

    5
    16 reviews

They seem to change the name on Mile High every few years or so. Now it's Sports Authority field. Whatever the name, it's a handsome stadium along route 25 with a backdrop of the Rockies. With Peyton Manning coming to town, I'm betting that it will be harder than ever to get a seat here.

    15 reviews

Ever since I was a kid, Tattered Cover has been my favorite bookstore of all time. Set in one of Denver's historic brick buildings, it's a book lover's paradise, housing a number of cozy corners and big comfy chairs in which to curl up and read. Homeless people sometimes find refuge here to use the clean bathrooms and quietly read ...

    Cherry Creek Bike Trail

    4.5
    12 reviews

Cherry Creek is a rather bizarre juxtaposition of wealth and poverty. The path itself is popular with runners and bikers and the Cherry Creek Mall is the nicest in town. At the same time the homeless and beggars frequent the street corners where traffic is frequently backed up.

    Denver Public Library

    10 reviews

Lovely place to sit down and relax after a day of exploring Denver. There are many levels, but I only went up to the 2nd floor. There are plenty of tables scattered throughout the library. I saw tons of people reading or studying here. The conveyor belt system they use for returning books is really cool and I just stood ...

    City Park

Denver is a large city geographically, and as such has some very large, spacious parks. City Park has many well-kept lawns, a concession stand and a museum. In the summer time there's music in the park, which attracts hundreds of people who bring their kids, their dogs and their grills.
