    Water World

    4
    11 reviews

Water World should not be confused with Elitch Gardens' water park. Both are fantastic places to cool off on a hot day but Water World is a bit bigger and more popular.

    Denver Botanic Gardens

We have a family membership to the gardens and it is worth every penny. Whether it is taking the kids in the summer to view the Koi pond, or strolling in winter to the see holiday lights, I love this place. It is always well maintained with something new to see!

    Denver Art Museum

    4.5
    28 reviews

The Denver Art Museum looks like a cross between a paper weight and a space ship. You can't not love something so irresistibly gaudy. There are a number of outdoor cafes that have decent views of the museum.

    Downtown Aquarium

    4.5
    20 reviews

The Denver Aquarium is situated on the east side of Lodo near the REI and Coors Field. When my wife's family came to visit a few years back we split up one day with some of us going on a hike and others going to the Aquarium. My niece and nephew remember the sharks to this day.

    Denver Zoo

Just went with my little guy and friends-- it was great as always. Very kid friendly and excellent exhibits. The Tropical discovery was great, better than the nearby aquarium. The Lorakeet exhibit was a huge kid with the kids-- they loved feeding the birds. Lots going on and the new expansion for SE Asia is looking awesome. We stopped for ...

    City Park

    4.5
    10 reviews

Denver is a large city geographically, and as such has some very large, spacious parks. City Park has many well-kept lawns, a concession stand and a museum. In the summer time there's music in the park, which attracts hundreds of people who bring their kids, their dogs and their grills.

    16th Street Mall

    4
    42 reviews

16th Street Mall is a pedestrian friendly mall that runs through the middle of downtown and now extends in to the Riverfront neighborhood. It has come a long way from the days of gift shops and low end shopping. With the facelift of the Denver Pavilions and the addition of better restaurants including Earls and Yard House, more and more ...

Larimer Square is a must see-must do when you come to Denver. With its twinkling overhead lights and historic charm, the fabulous restaurants and shopping will have you coming back for more. We have too many favorite restaurants on Larimer to just name one so we'll name them all: Osteria Marco, TAG, Toms Urban 24, Capital Grille, Euclid Hall and ...

    Denver Performing Arts Complex

    4.5
    15 reviews

The Performing Arts Complex is where many classical concerts, ballets, operas and plays are held. It reminds me somewhat of the Galleria in Milan with its barrel vaulted glass ceiling. The balconies have excellent views of downtown and the mountains.

    Invesco Field At Mile High

    17 reviews

They seem to change the name on Mile High every few years or so. Now it's Sports Authority field. Whatever the name, it's a handsome stadium along route 25 with a backdrop of the Rockies. With Peyton Manning coming to town, I'm betting that it will be harder than ever to get a seat here.

    Childrens Museum

    4
    4 reviews

Great place to play and learn! They recently added a science exhibit all about bubbles, took great effort to extract my son and friends. The train room and the forest experience are always fun. They have a basic self serve restaurant with kid friendly food (and suprisingly tasty options for adults) when you need to refuel.

A really great independent bookstore. Large but still sort of cozy at the same time. Books are mostly new, but there are also used and bargain books, plus a cafe. A great place to browse!

REI is a fabulous resource for all of your outdoor needs. Besides being in one of the coolest buildings and locations, it's THE go-to store for having an active lifestyle. United States Mint

    5
    9 reviews

In the US, coins are minted in Denver, Philadelphia or San Francisco. If you look at any coin carefully you can see the mint mark, which tells you at which mint the coin was pressed. The Denver Mint is the biggest tourist attraction in the city. Unfortunately it's also one of the hardest to visit. You have to make reservations ...

    City Park Jazz

    5
    3 reviews

For a city the size of Denver, the sense of community one experiences at the City Park Jazz concerts is remarkable. People bring their children, dogs and grills in order to sit in the sunshine by the pond, hanging out with friends and listening to music. I've been here twice and enjoyed hanging out with my friends and the camaraderie ...

Located where the Platte River meets Cherry Creek, Confluence Park is a city park with rolling hills, small beaches, a skateboard park, and lots of pedestrian paths.
