    Downtown Aquarium

    21 reviews

The whole family will be amazed at the brilliantly lit sea creatures featured here. However, the one can't-miss event is the mermaid show that occurs at set times though out the day. Kids can hear “live” audio of the mermaids’ conversation as they take on the task of cleaning the sea.

    Denver Beer Co

    3 reviews

Denver Beer Co continues to be one of the places that I stop by whenever I'm in town. They always seem to be crazy busy, but never lack being personable and friendly. They have outdoor seating and weather permitting, they'll have something cooking on the grill outside. Along with the lively atmosphere and great staff they have a good selection ...

    Denver Botanic Gardens

    31 reviews

A lovely botanic garden with a wide range of habitats and exhibits. The alpine rock garden in particular is pretty awesome, as are the Asian-inspired gardens. Though really, everything is pretty great. The Boettcher Memorial Tropical Conservatory is a fantastic example of a tropical conservatory, with very cool midcentury-style diamondy shaped windows, instead of the traditional rectangular greenhouse ones.

Whenever there is nice weather in Denver, locals flock to this spot just south of the city. And for good reason: its 165 acres encompass a small lake, tennis courts, recreation center and expansive tree-dotted fields, making it the perfect spot to fully enjoy a sunny day. Volleyball and soccer players, roller skaters, bikers, runners, slack liners and picnickers take ...

    Cherry Creek Bike Trail

    12 reviews

Cherry Creek is a rather bizarre juxtaposition of wealth and poverty. The path itself is popular with runners and bikers and the Cherry Creek Mall is the nicest in town. At the same time the homeless and beggars frequent the street corners where traffic is frequently backed up.

    Denver Art Museum

    28 reviews

It's not surprising that the huge, funky, silver, pointy geometric building in the center of downtown is an art museum. Sit beneath the massive story-high red chair outside (the one with the tiny pony atop -- random, huh?) and let your imagination wander, or step inside the wildly designed building to see artwork of a variety of genres and engage ...

    Museum of Contemporary Art

    14 reviews

This certainly isn't the stuffy museum you went to on your class field trip in 5th grade. This is the kind of place that offers lectures titled "Motown & Human Mating" and "Minimalism & Giant Wombats." The focus here is on innovation and artistic experimentation. Even the rooftop cafe area is designed in a unique manner, utilizing topiary-inspired sculptures in ...
