Went for the special Christmas lights and it was absolutely amazing! The moment we walked in it started snowing adding to the magical feeling. We decided to buy the extra 3D glasses and it was so worth it! It sounds silly but seeing all those little sparkling candy canes was really fun and added that extra bit of whimsy.
Highly recommend for the holiday season!

Botanical gardens aren't typically my thing but this one really stands out. It's divided into different regions--from arid to rain forest--and has lots of water areas (ie a gorgeous lily pond as well as hidden and not-so-hidden fountains). Best of all, there is typically an extensive sculpture exhibit set up around the garden, which only adds to the beauty of the place. There's also a hands-on area for kids, complete with shovels, water-play and plant/bug exploration.

The price of admission is steep ($12.50 per person) so bring your student ID if you have one. That said, the landscaping and horticulture is absolutely gorgeous. The gardens are divided based on regional ecosystems. Many, like the alpine and mesa desert exhibits are quite familiar while other areas, such as the African flowers and the Japanese section are outlandish and quite beautiful.

We have a family membership to the gardens and it is worth every penny. Whether it is taking the kids in the summer to view the Koi pond, or strolling in winter to the see holiday lights, I love this place. It is always well maintained with something new to see!Recommended for:Family Travelers

If you are visiting during the summer the Botantic Gardens is a must see. Another treat is their summer concert series on the lawn. Bring a picnic and enjoy the flowers and the music. The shows often sell out but check their website for tix availability.

A lovely botanic garden with a wide range of habitats and exhibits. The alpine rock garden in particular is pretty awesome, as are the Asian-inspired gardens. Though really, everything is pretty great. The Boettcher Memorial Tropical Conservatory is a fantastic example of a tropical conservatory, with very cool midcentury-style diamondy shaped windows, instead of the traditional rectangular greenhouse ones.
