For a modern stadium this is pretty impressive, and the views of the city while you watch a game are impressive.

    Detroit Institute of Arts

This is one of the best art museums in the country, and a true jewel of Detroit. Absolutely a can't miss place if you're visiting Detroit, and certainly a place one can return again and again. Look for special events on the weekends, especially for kids. Only $5 for students and free for anyone in the tri-county area.

Located on the riverfront, this is where you will find a festival pretty much every weekend after memorial day throughout the summer. Anything from jazz, techno, country music, to african festivals. It gets very crowded but there is always security to make sure people stay safe. If theres not a festival, its basically a large concrete area by the river ...

On a nice afternoon, it's quite beautiful to walk the walk... that said it's not a long walk as there isn't anywhere to really walk to.

What is this Tron like building? Disappointed the one CVS inside wasn't open during DEMF, as everyone needed something from it (like an umbrella) - or even the various restaurants inside. Could have really taken advantage of a business boost from all the visitors and tourism that weekend.

Visit the landmark factory where Henry Ford cranked out the first car for the masses. Scores of shiny vehicles from 1904 onward are on display (check out those huge, honking' horns!). Senior citizen docents give tours covering every nook and cranny.

    Motown Historical Museum

As a fan of Motown music I wouldn't have missed this - it's as inspiring and magical as I would've hoped. When you enter the 'snake pit', and see the worn floorboards where the Supremes stamped their way through 'Baby Love', I'd defy a music fan not to be impressed.

    Detroit People Mover

    4.5
    3 reviews

What's the point of this? The monorail that goes in circles (in one direction), which barely anyone rides. I hope that Detroit experiences the deserved long-coming regeneration, and that the People Mover fulfils its promise. There are talks of extending it or connecting it to light rail up Woodward, the main boulevard; this may help give it more purpose.

Wish GM was as strong as what they used to be. My father worked very hard and became an electrition. He has stuck with GM and he almost has his 30 yrs in. Too bad people don't understand the car industries. Go see this building because in this economy it can be gone soon.
