My coworker and I came early to camp their opening time so we wouldn't have to wait too long. This is the original location, so we wanted to try it at least once! They have an adorable xia long bao mascot statue in the front :) We ordered XLB, Shrimp and Pork Dumplings, Pork Buns, and side dishes like bean ...

I actually had attended a concert here a few years ago and the acoustics were very good. It's a large, elegant and modern amphitheater built in the classic Chinese style. Even if you're not going to a concert, it's worth dropping by to see along with the national theater and Memorial Hall.

This is akin to Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, but more wide open space, less shrubbery. A good place to be to get away from the city life, without treking to the suburbs. Go during certain times of the year for some mild surprises/promotions/celebrations/performances. Great for a stroll, for families (there's a fairly decent kids playground there, good fun ...

Along with the National Concert Hall, which it faces, and the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall to its left, the National Theater forms a triangle of buildings in Liberty Square. Along with the Concert Hall, the National Theater was one of the first modern performance venues established in Asia. While paying homage to classical Chinese tradition, the Concert Hall and the ...

One of my favorite spots in the Wanhua district. Learn about the history of the Red House theatre, and browse through creative boutique. On weekends, stalls will be set up and full of local artists wares. If it's hot, you can also grab a beer or drink around the back at one of the many bars and restaurants ( really ...

There is something for everyone at Taipei's largest park. Jogging, exercise stops, children's play area, bird watching, a nature trail, a fish filled pond (no fishing permitted), sitting areas - they are all here. A marvelous piece of nature in the middle of the city.

I agree that the location is strange for a display of flowers. However, what better use to make of the land below a freeway. The flower displays stretch on and on and include flower accessories. It's a good chance to become acquainted with the different flora in Taipei.

Underworld is a small dive bar and music club in the Shi-da district of Taipei. They are mostly an indie and alternative music venue, but also a popular place for musicians just starting out. I saw my sister's friend open for a band here, and though her friend was a little more pop-y, the response from the crowd was encouraging ...

I really loved going to the South Gate (Nanmen) Market in Taipei because it was a very authentic Taiwanese marketplace while still being rather large and having a huge assortment of things to buy. Amazing collections of jade. I have been told that the prices here tend to be higher than elsewhere. At the very least, one should bargain. However, worth a walk-through just to admire the pieces on display.
