My favourite place to stay in Florida, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is unlike any other hotel. The building closely surrounds four savannas filled with exotic wildlife - imagine strolling out in the morning and seeing zebras and giraffes right from your balcony, and right close by. From the snack bar by the pool to the luxury restaurant upstairs, all the food is so excellent that locals often stop in just to enjoy a meal. Be sure to grab a pair of night-vision goggles in the evenings to watch the animals play.Recommended for:

Imagine waking up, looking out from the African tribal decor of your mosquito net-draped bedroom suite and seeing the head of a giraffe walk by, grazing on subtropical brush. Now recall the fact that you are in Orlando. Weird, right? I mean, I knew places like this were possible in the Heart of the Dark Continent, but in the Magic Kingdom? Disney has outdone themselves here. These are amongst the best of the vacation villas I've come across - spacious, energetically decorated and full of adventure. Also, the jungle-themed pool area here is AWESOME. You can see antelope feeding as you down a cocktail from the pool bar! The one downside is that it's a little bit of a commute to any of the attractions other than the Animal Kingdom. But if you really like wildlife and don't mind shuttling over to Epcot, this is an ideal vacation spot!Recommended for:

It's extremely cool to look out your window and see all the wildlife roaming around. Some rooms have better views than others. They have a wonderful restaurant Jiko here. Great African cuisine.Recommended for:

During the three-hour signature safari experience on this wildlife preserve, expect to spy giraffes, wildebeests, and zebras. At dusk, don night-vision goggles and head back out to tour the grounds by open-air truck. The Pan-African restaurant Jiko prepares inventive flatbreads like roasted chicken with spicy lime relish and Lamb Chopper cheese, grilled to perfection in the restaurant’s wood-burning ovens.Recommended for:

Awesome hotel with amazing views of wildlife. We enjoyed the pool, outdoor fire, night time binoculars and decor.
The only negative was the housekeeping. With a larger family we were in need of towels and soap more often. We never received fresh towels or soap.Recommended for:

Love this hotel! All the decor is spot-on and definitely makes you feel like you are somewhere else. Our room had a Savannah view and we had breakfast on our balcony each morning watching the animals eat theirs. Even got to talk to some of the rangers who gave us a little background info on their habits. Wonderful experience! Plus, Boma is a fantastic restaurant.

These are light fixtures at the Kidani Village portion of Animal kingdom Lodge. Great place to stay if you are traveling to Disney. The only negatives I can think of are the distance from the parks and the bus transportation is usually slow. But, it feels removed in a really nice way.
Watching the animals from your room and the people who are hired from Africa as guides are so interesting to talk with.
I prefer Jambo House to Kidani Village mostly because Kidani has no food service.Recommended for:

Great hotel with views of the animals from your room balcony!!
Only complaint was how far the walk was from the hotel lobby to our room. Felt like it took 15 minutes. And the distance the hotel is from the rest of disney world. Unless you have a car or willing to take the buses it is not convenient.

I would give this 5 stars had I stayed here yet. I've eaten at the Sanaa Restaurant twice on separate visits, and I love taking photos of the animals on property. The Animal Kingdom Lodge is the hotel where I hope to stay on my next visit. From my pictures, you can see how easy it would be to sip lemonade (or beer) on the patio while watching critters cavort in the grass.

Even if you're not a guest at Animal Kingdom Lodge, it's worth a visit. The lobby is amazing. Even better, however, is the outdoor area where the animals roam free. Beautiful flowers along the walkway, too. Be sure to take your camera.
One of our favorite Disney restaurants is located here - Jiko.

A stunning resort from the moment you walk into the lobby.
You'll be amazed at the vastness of the main lobby area.
There is a walkway out back that allows guests to view any animals that happen to be out in the Savannah at the moment.
There are two amazing restaurants here: Boma (buffet) and Jiko (table service).
There is a nice bar just off the lobby as well.
