My family and I stayed here for the Millennium New Year. The hotel grounds are massive and the parks are within walking distance. As kids, our favorite part of the hotel was a HUGE chair in the lobby that we'd all race back to at the end of the day, hoping we'd be the first kids to get to pile into it (it fit at least 4 of us at a time). The hotel rooms were stunning and the amenities on the grounds were superb.Recommended for:

I've stayed here twice now and love the place. Like all the Disney resorts, it has lots of character. The turn-of-the-century boardwalk feel is fun and nostalgic. It was an easy walk to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios from here and, of course, there's transportation to all the other parks. The rooms were excellent, with great views of the lagoon and the fireworks from Epcot Center.Recommended for:

This is one of my favorite Disney resorts, although I slightly prefer the villa side to the Inn. If I could sum this place up in one word, it would be RELAXED. They've done an excellent job of making the Inn feel like a stately old New England guest house, and the boardwalk is a flashback into the east coast seaside carnivals of yesteryear. The rooms have a contemporary beach-style that doesn't feel contrived by Disney standards, and the boardwalk just steps away is almost authentic with its carnival performers, funnel cakes and "seaside" shops. There is even a Wyland Galleries - one of my favorite ocean artists! Also, wifi is free and Epcot just a short boat taxi away. This is truly living the fine life under Disney's roof!Recommended for:

Of all the resorts I've stayed at in Disney World, the Boardwalk Inn is my favorite. It feels like a beach resort from the 1920s and 1930s, with whitewashed buildings, carousels, and cotton candy. It's located on Crescent Lake, near the Yacht and Beach Clubs, and a quick walk into EPCOT's back entrance. There's plenty here to keep you occupied so you don't have to run back-and-forth to the parks constantly. Walk or bike around the lake, find the quiet pool, hang out at the ESPN Club, or eat salt-water taffy and freshly baked cookies.Recommended for:

The Boardwalk is great hotel. Close walk to Epcot, which is important during the Food & Wine Festival in November. They also have the restaurants, bars, and dance club out their front door, which is nice if you like to go out at night.

Susan is spot on with her review. This is one of the nicest of the Walt Disney World resort hotels. The part that is simply perfect and well thought out on the part of Disney is that the pool area and garden are more secluded. You don't feel the crowds bustling by.
The boardwalk is not as great as I expected. It is actually very small. But the real draws are a boat ride away, anyway.

We had concierge-level accommodations at Boardwalk Inn. Room had 2 queen beds and a small "couch." All five of us fit in one room comfortably.
The staff in the concierge lounge felt like family and we found ourselves drawn to them for warm conversation.
Concierge-levels at Disney resorts are well worth the money. We had breakfast, afternoon snacks, evening appetizers (including wine & beer) and late evening cordials in the concierge lounge. Very relaxing and convenient.
The location of the inn is very convenient to the Boardwalk area (shops & restaurants). It's also within walking distance to Epcot.
There's an on-site bar, but they don't serve food.Recommended for:

Location and amenities are heavy here making this a fantastic Disney resort.
First of all, this resort is situated just outside EPCOT and a short walk, about 10 minutes, away from Disney's Hollywood Studios. There are restaurants galore at The Boardwalk anywhere from a sportsbar to pizza window to full service seafood dining. The Boardwalk Bakery is a great place to stop for something sweet any time of the day.
During the busier times in the evening, there is entertainment on the Boardwalk including street actors or fair-type games.
The swimming pool, Luna Park, has the feel of a seaside amusement park. It's slide, Keister Coaster, looks like an old wooden roller coaster. One of my favorite bars to visit is Leaping Libations next to the pool. During my walk to Disney's Hollywood Studios, we usually stop off at this bar for a cool drink before continuing on the walk.
One of my favorite areas of this resort is in back that you can only access by going into the resort and then out a side door. In this area is a quiet pool, and the charming Garden Cottages complete with rose gardens and white picket fences surrounding the front exterior. This is such an adorable and quiet space.
