The Grand Floridian takes you back to those huge resorts our grandparents or great grandparents enjoyed. Not only the size but the level of luxury make it a great stay. $$$$. The location on the Lagoon directly next to the Magic Kingdom is perfect as well.

Victorian decor, grand chandeliers, and a view of the Magic Kingdom over the Seven Seas Lagoon help make the Grand Floridian the grande dame of Disney World resorts. Watch the Magic Kingdom's fireworks from the beach, dress up for dinner, or ride the monorail around the lagoon.

This is my favorite Disney Hotel. It is extra special at Christmas Time when all the decorations are up.

This resort is so picturesque that I'm never surprised by the number of weddings held here. Great location as well!

I have to say that I am not a fan of the Victorian style. Like Susan said, it feels so stiff and formal. The people are not, which is oddly comforting. I wouldn't take the family here. It is more of a honeymoon, romantic type resort.
This is also home to many of the best restaurants on Walt Disney World property.

Great location due to its proximity to the Magic Kingdom and convenient monorail hotel. The lobby is gorgeous, especially at Christmas (huge decorated tree).

If you're into formal experiences, this is the hotel for you. From the beautiful rooms to the exquisite dining, you won't be disappointed.

The location is excellent as this is a monorail hotel. This resort has been considered the flagship hotel of Walt Disney World which you can feel just by taking it all in from a short distance.
This resort is too formal for me and the grounds are fairly uneventful. They are neat and manicured, just too formal for me.
You can either take a monorail over to the Polynesian resort from here or walk on a nice walkway that starts near the grotto pool.
Citricos is a restaurant at this location that has been consistently delicious.
There is also a women's clothing shop here that I like more than any other shop on the World Resort property.

Beautiful hotel but felt it was dated. Also no wifi in rooms for the price was ridiculous!
