    The Carlyle Suites

I love the funky, art deco look of this hotel. Everything from the lettering on the outside, to the chairs and telephone in the lobby, to the elevators are in the style. The restaurant, Twist Dupont,is colorful and fun. Since the rooms are suites, some stay for longer terms. I spoke with an airline steward who calls it home three ...

Excellent! - 88% of guests recommend

Possibly my new favorite hotel in DC. Chic, fun and full of frills, like all Kimptons. I love the groovy bar, the ideal Dupont location and the daily complimentary wine mixer in the relaxing lobby-side lounge. All rooms are suites and they are HUGE. Seriously, my room here had more square footage than the small two-bedroom cottage I call home. ...

This is a boutique hotel at its finest. The rooms seem small, but are cozy, quaint, and luxurious. The suites are large. This hotel is great for business travelers and adult travelers. I don’t recommend this hotel for families. It seems too formal for children, but maybe a family with teenagers. It’s located near all the embassies and the metro.

    The Dupont Circle Hotel

    Hotel Class:
    3.5

Excellent! - 89% of guests recommend

It's easy to miss this hotel. It has a somewhat drab exterior, and could simply be mistaken for one of the many Dupont Circle apartment buildings. But I was pleasantly surprised by the inside; the hotel has had a $52 million renovation. It is part of the Doyle Collection, one of a group of urban hotels in the U.S., U.K. ...

Been here twice. First time is when they originally opened...was the hot place for creatives to go at the time. Went again after Kimpton bought it. Was still good...just not as great as I remembered it. Although the neighborhood has vastly improved. Would stay again.

You would never guess from the size of the tiny lobby that the rooms here would be so huge! They fit in two queen beds, a sofa, two chairs and a table and there’s still room to do a cartwheel! The bellhop told me the building used to be apartments and they weren’t able to move a lot of walls ...

Very Good! - 83% of guests recommend

The hotel is on the edge of the business district. On a good day, it's a pleasant walk to either Connecticut Avenue or Georgetown. And it's walking distance to several subway lines. Given the location, I was surprised by the colorful lobby, which had fun music and a nice smell. Some nights, there's a live band. It's definitely an upbeat ...

Good! - 75% of guests recommend

There's no restaurant or bar here and the rooms are not luxurious, but you can't beat the price and the location! For $119 a night in Dupont Circle, you get a nice room and all the local flavor you can suck up. The area is awash in restaurants and bars, plus it's gay-friendly – everyone's welcome. Stop at Kramerbooks – ...

It's a hip place with a chill lobby that's good for people watching. Even the rooms are set up trendy. Definitely check out the rooftop bar, P.O.V. (Point of View Terrace); it overlooks the back of the White House, but even without that, it's a nice view of the city. If you're on a business trip, might not be a ...

This hotel is cavernous; it's easy to get lost. If you are rushing off to a convention or a fundraiser there, you might miss the glory of the place. The lobby is beautiful, and spectacular. There are banners remembering the many events and personalities that have come to the Shoreham -- from a Rudy Vallee performance to the Beatles to ...

The room is okay, but not terrific. Shampoo & other amenities are in tiny bottles and you cannot get product out. It took 7 minutes to get enough body lotion to do the whole body. Water was only lukewarm morning and evening. And there are very creepy photos in the hallway, suggesting a liaison between an older man (a political ...

Lovely hotel. A bit cookie cutter but still maintains some of the charm / Asian influences that MO is known for. F&B facilities are good. Weekend brunches are excellent. The major drawback to this property is the location. It isn't convenient and skews a bit dodgy. Don't plan to walk from the property. You'll probably need to take taxis.

    Tabard Inn

Very Good! - 80% of guests recommend

I like the inn's locale – near boutique offices, an embassy or two, and not far from the Dupont Circle cafe and bar scene. The Tabard Inn's own restaurant attracts an interesting crowd – not only hotel guests, but neighbors, journalists and people in the arts scene. It's relaxed, but part of the city's action at the same time. Originally ...

Excellent! - 91% of guests recommend

This is, perhaps, the most storied hotel in Washington. It's only a block or two from the White House. Every U.S. President since the 1850's has been a guest or visitor there. The lobby is just beautiful. You almost feel as though you are carried back in time. When I was there, afternoon tea was being served. It felt quite ...

I wish I could give 99 stars to this place. Amazing restaurants, fantastic little rooms and cubbies to sit and work during the day, beautiful guest rooms (no room is the same as another) with scrumptious duvets and crisp sheets. There was a TV in the bathroom mirror....you know, since I need to check my stock prices while I'm brushing ...

This is a nice hotel, obviously being a Ritz Carlton, but the rooms are ok. I suppose you could walk around to places, but it seems kind of far to walk. Depending on what you are looking for I may try another hotel that is closer to the landmarks.

We loved this hotel. It was a great price for the location in the city here a lot of hotels can be $50-$100 more. The lobby is a bit dated, but the room was totally new with great finishes. I will certainly stay there again, if I need a place in Washington.

Talk about comfort with plenty of room to move around. The Residence Inn downtown is a great place to make a long stay (or a short one, though it may be more space than anyone needs for just a weekend). I felt like I was in an apartment rather than a hotel room, with a great kitchen area and spacious ...

I felt luxury the second I walked into the lobby. This hotel is for the luxury traveler and business traveler with a great travel budget. I really liked the warmth and coziness of this place. Lots of couches and soft jazz music in the common areas. Pretty flower displays. The rooms aren't large but they are nicely decorated and up-to-date. That said, I'd rather hang out downstairs. There's a free wine hour most evenings. It's a great time to chat with other guests, some of ...
