I've been periodically heading to Ditirambo through the years, first as a tourist, then resident, and now again visitor to Rome. It's one of those places that's papered with stickers of all the best guides (Gambero Rosso, etc), and if you arrive at lunch, one room is dedicated to making the pasta for the evening and the other to accommodating diners. The atmosphere is country casual, with wooden beams lining the ceiling and checkered tablecloths. The wine list will take you from Sicily to Piedmont, sampling rarely seen Italian grapes all the way. One of my favorite Roman spots, this is a place that's taking the eternal city into the modern day without sacrificing the amazing, mouthwatering traditions of the past.

Just a few small blocks from Campo de’ Fiori, this is what I would regard as a classic trattoria--crowded wooden tables, rustic looking walls and ceiling, bottles of wine everywhere and great smells coming from the kitchen. Their pasta was recommended but the first time we ate here, we did not have pasta. So, we just had to return for a second dinner. Loved this place. Great service staff, tasty food, lively atmosphere.

Description

A small restaurant off Campo dei Fiori where the pasta and desserts are handmade, and includes classic Italian dishes done to perfection, like the Roman tonnarelli cacio e pepe, as well as modern takes on the cuisine, like pear and gorgonzola souffle with a balsamic reduction. A central location, air conditioning, and very reasonable prices make Ditirambo a perennial favorite of modern Romans and discerning travellers.
