Our group of four at here in April 2012. I can tell you that our experience was the exact opposite of what the first reviewer found.
When we arrived at dinner time there wasn't another soul in the place, and two hours later there still wasn't another customer to be found. I think folks have figured out that this place just isn't worth it -- especially when you have to pass three other restaurants to get here. I can easily see this place going out of business in the very near future.
So what was so bad? Well, first off they were 'out' of Chardonnay. i know, rum and beer are the drinks of choice, but seriously? There is a liquor store 50 yards away! Ok, not a big deal.
We went on a Thursday, where the 'theme' for that night was Asian. There were two appetizers offered -- spring rolls and Sushi. As a seafood lover I chose the Sushi and asked our waitress what types of fish/seafood were on the Sushi. She didn't have a clue. We had already sent her back to check whether they had any shrimp left as one of our diners wanted a dish that had shrimp and she wasn't sure. So I asked her to just let me know when she brought the Sushi out what types of fish were on it. Well, turns out "Sushi" to them is really Maki (roll) to the rest of the world, and when I pointed that out at the end of the evening to the Asian hostess she insisted it was "Sushi Maki". Yeah, right. But the real bummer here was that the Maki was really a cucumber roll -- a slice of cucumber, rolled around rice and seaweed. Seriously folks? This is the Carribbean and the best you can do is cucumber? To their credit the spring rolls were the best any of had ever had, and a good size portion -- 2 rolls for $30 EC. Compare that to the Susui, which was about the size of 1/2 a roll for the same price, and you can understand the feeling of being 'ripped off'.
Three of four dinners were actually OK. I had the seafood jambalaya which interstingly can be served over linquine or rice. Rice please! A good portion of shellfish was included, and the flavor was ok. But man, stay away from the seafood skewers. Another diner in our party ordered this and it came so overcooked that the fish portions actually had the texture and taste of chicken. The scallops were non-existent (maybe that's what they were out of and our waitress was confused).
Anyways, we would never go back to the place again -- too many other options far cheaper and much tastier.

The Dogwatch Tavern is a well managed tavern/restaurant. Mark is a great guy who goes over and above to ensure his customers are comfortable and receiving all they need. You can't find a more genuine guy anywhere! He serves a great meal at reasonable prices and the service is better than most! I would recommend Mark's establishment to anyone looking for a drink to cool down or an excellent meal. It's definitely my choice in Jolly Harbour. All the best Mark, wishing you well in the future!
