    Souq Waqif

    4.5
    23 reviews

Honestly, I was disappointed. Despite being made to look old, it's new - as in, built 5-10 years ago. Unlike Istanbul's Grand Bazaar or Bangkok's Chatuchak, which feel old for a reason, this one was more akin to what one might find at Disneyland. Beyond this, the shops all sell roughly the same stuff, with 60% or so complete tourist ...

    Villaggio Shopping Mall

    4.5
    22 reviews

A beautiful and huge mall with painted ceiling (both daylight clouds and dark night with starts) and a water path with gondolas that make you feel like you are in Venice. The stores are really classy and there is even a special part of the mall for really luxury stores and products. Pay attention to some real gold details in ...

    Porto Arabia

    5 reviews

Porto Arabia, a part of The Pearl (a man-made island) nearing the outskirts of the city, is a nice place for a long walk. There are people strolling along the water, stopping for a coffee, taking a water taxi or just looking at how much is changing around them. Although most of the restaurants are very expensive and retail stores ...

    City Centre Mall

Meets all the normal mal criteria, and then some. Open late, ice skating rink, American restaurants, and more coming. I personally was impressed at the width of the pedestrian spaces - its huge overall.

Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art

    4.5
    2 reviews

I'd give this five stars, but it's a hike from the center of Doha--although as a sort of bonus, you get to go to the very space-age-mars-colony-feeling Education City, which is a bit bizarre. The museum has an interesting permanent collection, but often that's not on view because the whole space is dedicated to some special show. I saw a ...

    The Mall

    2 reviews

If you couldn't tell by the name, this was the first mall built in Doha. Hence them not actually naming it, so if people say The Mall, this is what they mean, unless they don't so be sure to clarify. As the oldest mall in Doha, it isn't very fancy. It has a small movie theater and the biggest draw ...

    Camel races

    1 review

Ah, now for something I did enjoy about Doha. A touch of tradition and heritage. It used to be children racing the camels, these days don't be surprised if you see a robot rider (I'm not joking) remote controlled by its owner. See the website for race schedules.

    Falcon Souq

The highlight of my visit to Doha. Although I couldn't help feeling pity for the falcons, watching the locals shop for them is fascinating. Unlike anything I've seen before. The birds themselves are gorgeous and the overall experience is unforgettable. The stores are often closed. Check times in advance to avoid disappointment.

This picturesque oyster-pearl monument set on the Corniche of Doha Bay is representative of Qatar’s historical economical driver— Qatar the former pearl capital of the world. Perfect views of the Doha skyline can be observed from the site.
