Dolores Park Cafe isn’t just the closest clean restroom to Dolores Park that isn’t in your hip friend’s park-side house, it’s also a great restaurant serving some tasty coffee. On less crowded days, it’s a nice place to come—alone or with friends, as they have a nice counter space for singles—and gaze outside at the people passing by.
Oh, yes. They serve Sightglass Coffee, ranked number one in artisan Bay Area coffee producers by an independent team at 7x7 Magazine. The choice is solid, as it has the flavor of Four Barrel with less of the acidic aftertaste I often get. Menu items at Dolores Park Cafe are affordable—all under $10—and offer enough variety for repeat visits (or repeat orders).
Located across the street from the southwest corner of Dolores Park, there is usually plenty of action. Whether here or across the street at Bi-rite Creamery, you will likely see a line. The appearance of the sun ensures a tenfold probability of this, as half the city seems to flock to this area. And who can blame them, really, for we are blessed with one of the great neighborhood parks you’ll ever find. Dolores Park Cafe on a sunny day is what dreams are made of.

Great coffee house. Very bright, with huge windows and a patio overlooking Dolores Park, one of the city's best sunny day hangouts. Good for brunch - they have a full menu, very reasonably priced - or just a coffee.

Adorable half-cafe, half-bar. They frequently have adorable live music and cheap bottles of quality beer like Fat Tire and what not. Near the park you shouldn't be going to because it's ours (not yours, ours), I'll consent to let you grab a quick refresher here and take in the sunset or the possibility of ice cream across the street at this gateway to the Mission proper.
