Located next to Boston’s Chinatown and Theater District, the Doubletree Boston is only a mere blocks away from the famed Boston Commons and Garden. Luxurious down to the aquarium in the visitor’s lobby, the Doubletree is a bit pricey, but well worth it. Exhibiting clean rooms with comfortable beds for guests, the Doubletree is great accommodation in the heart of the city. Don’t hesitate to take advantage of the YMCA guest passes and Starbucks in the lobby if you decide to stay at the Doubletree Boston.

There's no question that the Doubletree in downtown Boston is a solid, comfortable hotel choice. It's big, clean, modern and comes equipped with all the amenities. That said, this isn't my favorite part of the city--it's just a bit loud and chaotic for my taste (you're right by the Tufts Medical Center, and Chinatown is just around the corner), and the hotel itself was very crowded when I was there. Still, the location is pretty convenient.

The double tree is located outside of the city centre - it's actually easier to reach Cambridge than downtown. Regardless, you'll need to rely on taxis. The suites are comfortable and spacious, however the hotel looks a bit like a shopping mall. The staff could be more helpful also.

I loved the comfortable feel of this hotel, with the attached Starbucks on the ground floor and the ample, inviting couches in the main lobby area. It almost felt like an extension of the coffee shop. I also really liked the fish tank on the first floor, as well as the modern-looking chandelier above it. There is a restaurant called Wisteria on the lobby level, which has a lot of different mid-high priced surf or turf type options on the menu. I thought it was a little odd, though, that there wasn’t much privacy or unique ambiance from the rest of the hotel for a higher-end restaurant. This hotel doesn’t have its own pool or fitness center, but it is attached to a local YMCA that guests can use for free. I would say the only real downside to this hotel is that it’s literally right next to Tufts Medical Center, which means ambulance sirens are pretty common at any time of day. Otherwise it’s definitely a solid choice.
