I don't usually stay in a lot of hotels. I was staying here mostly for business. The beds here were average and the room was okay size. The service here was great, especially as they did not mind giving me a warm cookie just about every day. The meeting I was there for made sure to accomodate for my meals, but twice did not prepare well for diet.Recommended for:

I recall when they were throwing their summer pool rehab parties. They were ok and alright. They were THERE but that is all there is to it. And so the same goes for the rooms. It's not necessarily a destination but its there. The rooms are severely dated. It almost looks like a throw back to the past. I admit that the same could be said about other spaced like motels and what not.. but those are motels and not throwing pool parties like it's vegas. I stayed after the all day pool party and just crashed. The pool area is roughly a small space. Though compared to a motel 6 space the pool is large and compared to Vegas pools it's minuscule in comparison. The room got me through the latter half of the day for a night of fun back down town. Though that doesnt say much since it's down town but when friends are in town and wanting to go out, I'm too lazy to drive to SF. Another thought though is that one night it took me 3 hours to walk here.. I dont know why but it probably had to do with me getting lost... the whole world looks different when you are walking as opposed to driving. Its something that I would not suggest doing again. But on the flip side they do have a nice lounge area by the lobby.

Meh. I've spent enough time here in the past month to say that this is really ... Meh.
First off, places that charge for parking when it is in San Jose and not downtown ... why. They gave me discounted parking for $7, it was supposed to be $5, holy crap how much is regular parking??
The lobby is definitely stuffy, the staff is on and off friendly, sometimes they greet you, sometimes they don't. Other times they question you repeatedly about where you're going as if you're not supposed to be there. Every single weekend and week night there are some weird convention or random sample sales of fur going on downstairs which draws an interesting crowd.
Someone alerted me that this was where they had held Furcon for years and years until they were recently banned. Eek.
Overall, it's a decent hotel but the rates are kind of outrageous and that "espresso bar" they have? What a rip! They charge you $6.xx for a grande drink since they brew Starbucks and it tastes like 60% water!
I don't recommend this place, and the pool and jacuzzi really don't make up for it.

The rooms are affordable, clean, but fairly outdated. Pool area is small but since most of the patrons are in for quick business trips, it's often unused. There is one main bar area and restaurant but due to the location of the hotel, there aren't many other food options in walking distance.
Perk: They offer free shuttles to/from the San Jose airport---you just need to call them once you arrive.
