From the outside the Doubletree Hilton at Northlake isn't much to look at. Situated in the midst of an aging office park the hotel is the epitome of don't judge a book by its cover.

Once you step inside the hotel, however, all of that is forgotten. A gorgeous waterfall greets you as soon as you come through sliding doors.

The inside of the hot property has been renovated and has a lot of really unique modern touches the fitness room has way more equipment than most facilities with full weight rack cardio machines and a flatscreen TV the pool which was closed when I visited is very spacious there's a beautiful waterfall feature there is well

With Highway 285 running right next to the hotel I assumed that you could hear plenty of noise from the lobby. Instead, I experienced piece and quiet among a calming waterfall. Just to be on the safe side, if you are noise sensitive you may consider requesting a room on the backside of the building. The stucco exterior isn’t so appealing but the interior makes up for it. This is a huge facility with plenty of meeting space. I noticed that the naming of the hallways reflected a wine and coffee theme. One of the managers commented, that this is what made this location unique. Marlow’s Tavern is attached and provides all the dining services for the hotel including room service. A popular hangout among locals and guests of the hotel, the rooftop patio adds to the charm while the fare is pretty good for bar food!

Wow, there’s lots to say about this hotel. It’s pretty massive considering that it’s on the outskirts of the city, and there’s plenty to do without ever leaving the facility. Inside the lobby is a full service coffee bar, and attached is full blown pub and restaurant, which seems like a popular place for locals to visit even if they’re not staying at the hotel. There’s plenty on the menu and on tap, a very welcoming sight if you’re used to sometimes bland hotel food.

There are a lot of meeting rooms at this hotel, but something that I appreciated is that the ground floor rooms are separated from the convention/meeting area by doors that require a registered room key; that way only guests can have access to the rooms.

The pool was nice, but I was actually most impressed with the fitness center. Each of the treadmills had their own built in monitor. But the best part was that if you had forgotten your earbuds or headphones, free individually packaged ear buds were right there in the room.

On top of all of that, the rooms were about as nice as you could expect. Very well maintained, clean and modern. I’d recommend this Double Tree to just about anyone.
