The Mission Valley area of San Diego has a lot of hotels in the mid-level range, but I find that the DoubleTree Hazard Center is a notch above the rest. It has most everything a fine hotel has (conference center, nice restaurant, beautiful interior, valet parking, concierge service), but it has the added values of plenty of parking, convenient access to lots of shopping and restaurants in the Mission Valley area, convenient access to the freeway, central location in San Diego, and their signature (and most delicious) warm chocolate chip cookies which they offer you upon check-in!Recommended for:

I stayed at the Doubletree when I went to a journalism convention. I gotta admire ANY hotel that gives you a warm chocolate chip cookie when you check in. It was lovely, comfortable, and close to the train station which was ideal for us since we couldn't drive. Overall, a wonderful experience!
