This hotel is on the border of Midtown/Upper East Side.
    The rooms are modern.
The subway is 10 steps away from the front door.
Bloomingdales is doen the street and it is surrounded by eateries.
I felt really safe in this neighborhood and its only a 10 minute walk to Times Sq and a 5 minute walk to Bryant Park.

This place was great! Stayed right in Mid-Town, close to everything and great service! I've never stayed at a hotel that hands you a warm cookie right after you check in! FREAKIN AWESOME!

It's a fine hotel, but offers little more than fine accommodation and easy access to tourist destinations. The best way I can describe this hotel is to compare it to a nondescript train station. It does it's job wonderfully and efficiently, and at a lower price than other offerings. But it is not, nor should it ever be confused with, a Grand Central train station - that is, a place that is worthwhile because of what it is, not because of what it offers.

Very nice, just renewed, great location by broadway and minutes from Central Park. Hotel has also cheapt rates and sometimes could be the best choice of Manhattan.

I have stayed at the Doubletree Metropolitan on 3 occasions and have enjoyed my stays each time. Appealing decor in the lobby and plus a very nice restaurant/bar area that is perfect for catching up on email or waiting for your room should you arrive at 10AM! Lots of outlets to recharge all of the gadgets.

The rooms are typical Doubletree with a clean, modern, efficient feel. Of course, the cookies always give me a warm feeling.

The rates have always been extremely reasonable, but started inching up little by little as more and more people found out about this little secret.

A no frills business traveler's hotel, in a convenient location. This hotel does not have much to offer except location. Situated not 2 blocks away from the 53rd & Lex stop, getting to JFK is quite easy if you hop on the E. Access to the rest of the city is fairly good as well.
