Outside the normal rides and child fun of the Disney Parks, Downtown Disney is Disney for adults. A bit more grown up than some of the other areas of Disney World Downtown Disney has shops and bars and nightlife for after the kids go to sleep!

I love Downtown Disney, especially after dark. I the clubs are fun and vibrant, the restaurants impeccable and the shopping...well, the shopping is awesome, especially if you're looking for unique or Disney-themed items. There is a great range of themed restaurants that both kids and adults can enjoy. The scenery is great as well. The whole thing is nicely laid out around the lake, perfect for strolling from one end to the other.

My friend said it best. “You have to make your own fun here.” Downtown Disney is like a beautifully wrapped present under the tree that ends up containing a pair of socks – a pair surely emblazoned with Mickey Mouse ears. Everything about the atmosphere is promising at first; free parking, free entry, live musicians on every corner, picturesque strings of lights overhead, grownup-looking venues and restaurants. Unfortunately, a quick hike around shows its true colours. It is a giant gift shop. I would not spend more than a few hours here, unless you have made arrangements to see something at the House of Blues or you absolutely need a Mickey shot glass. Otherwise, take some snapshots with the giant Lego statues, have a luxury bowl at the new Splitsville, and ride the hot air balloon. Other than that, I would seek out some real downtown areas outside of the parks until Disney finishes the revamp in the next few years.

Downtown Disney is a fascination for children and a great place for people of all ages. I always have fun here, no matter what time, alone or not... there's so much to do! It's home of World of Disney, world largest store of the brand, Lego Imagination Center and the Cirque du Soleil. The complex also has several restaurants, stores, clubs, movie theaters. If you're looking for entertainment just get in!
