Greeted with a smile, I quite enjoyed myself at the Drury Inn and Suites. I had to know about the name, though. The front desk clerk was happy to tell me that Drury is a family name of the owner. This is no franchise – which kind of sets it apart from the other road-side hotels that are scattered across the country. She told me that their customer service is #1 to them and was very proud of the J.D. Power and Associates award for best mid-scale hotel…or something. But, yeah…it’s a semi-sophisticated stay. They believe “extras shouldn’t cost extra” so they offer free Wi-Fi in the rooms, a free ‘Quikstart Breakfast’-where there is real food like eggs and waffles, and a free, sort of non-alcoholic happy hour called the 5:30 Kickback – that’s in the evening. Complimentary food and drink until 7p.m. I thought that was pretty cool. I can’t forget about the unique indoor pool and hot tub. If I was on a road trip and saw another Drury Inn along the way, I’d stay there.Recommended for:

For the price, Drury Inn is solid. My favorite part of the hotel is the half indoor, half outdoor pool with large sunbathing area. I've always enjoyed swimming from indoors to being outside. Drury inn has a restaurant, lots of snacks, and comfortable rooms. If you're a cardio person they have a few high tech treadmills next to the pool.
I'm guessing if you are staying in this part of Phoenix you are most likely working or visiting family. Great, quant place to get a goodnights sleep and some solitude.
