One of the most authentic places in Dubai. Make sure you spend a couple of hours walking around and exploring the neighborhood. You can find several galleries, museums along with a small hotel and some cafes. Bastakiya is the historical center of Dubai and where the city started.

    Souk Madinat Jumeira

Umm Suqeim Road - Dubai - United Arab Emirates
    31 reviews

Completely artificial but thoroughly enjoyable. This artificial souk packs a lot of atmosphere even if it feels a little more Disney than authentic. Nice restaurants, good shopping, and steps away from the beach.

    Burj Khalifa

Burj Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
    142 reviews

The Burj Khalifa is a stunning piece of architecture and is visible from most parts of Dubai. Standing close to it at the Dubai Mall is humbling.

    Mall of the Emirates

    85 reviews

Huge and over extravagant. I enjoyed walking around but it was a little overwhelming. What I did enjoy was the scenery outside- the giant fountain that goes off every hour and the enormous buildings.

    Dubai Marina Walk

Whenever I need to remember why I love living in Dubai, I visit the Dubai Marina. It’s one of the most stunning places in Dubai and looks very different than the rest of the city. It’s an artificial canal city built along the Persian Gulf shoreline. The Dubai Marina Walk can be quite a romantic place for a stroll at ...

Small but tasteful shop selling a variety of free trade items created by local and regional artisans. The collection consists primarily of women's clothing and accessories but also includes a few household items. Proceeds from many of the products go to Afghan charities.

    Souk Al Bahar

Souk Al Bahar Bridge - Dubai - United Arab Emirates
    4 reviews

This Arabian-style shopping mall has more character than Dubai Mall but somehow feels a bit dark and cramped. I prefer the older Madinat Jumeirah for this style of mall but Souk Al Bahar is a nice break from the full-on mega Western monstrosity across the way at Dubai Mall.

Your in for the thrill of your life! If you can't take the abrupt ups and downs request the driver to take only low hill and drive slow. However that will not assure you that you won't scream :)

    Abra on Dubai Creek

    49 reviews

Crossing the creek on an abar like the locals do was a fun and short little dubai experience for us. The ride is not more than 10 minutes, the cost is negligible (even for expensive Dubai), yet the memory of this crossing lasts a long time. This was really one of those rarer experiences while in Dubai where we were ...

    Jumeirah Mosque

Jumeirah Beach Rd - Dubai - United Arab Emirates
    23 reviews

The Jumeirah Mosque is a beautiful structure and because it is an active place of worship, non muslims are not allowed to visit....without an organized tour. Since we were not "organized" we didn't get a chance to marvel at the interiors but we were happy with being able to take a few snapshots of the intricately constructed and decorated exteriors.
