Great live music, good prices and not so crowded as Temple Bar is used to be, so a great alternative. Also there's few places for going party arround so is a nice place to start the night's plan.

    O'Donoghues Bar

Cool pub made famous by the band the Dubliners, who apparently used to hang out here. Its a pretty small pub, with wood paneled walls. Had a very historic and homey feel. Some nights they have live music here (though they didn't when we came) - mostly traditional Irish folk music. Would love to come here for that.

National Museum of Ireland - Decorative Arts & History

    4 reviews

Yea, another free museum! And another good one, this museum kind of picks up where the archeology museum leaves off with the history of Ireland over the last few hundred years. There are two sections half the museum is decorative arts (textiles, furniture, silver ware, ect.) and the other half is the history mostly of the English occupation and rebellion ...

    The Cobblestone Pub

I had an amazing evening here, but have no idea if it's replicable, but this place is fairly well known in Dublin for its Sunday afternoon music session. There was a really impressive mix of people in here. It's just by the Smithfield metro stop--so easy to get to, even if it's not the most commonly visited part of the ...

    St. Michan's Church

Very cool old church built on the foundations of an older Viking church. It is a relatively plain building, but due to the limestone used in construction has vaults that naturally mummified those buried beneath the church. You can check the vault on Saturdays.

With more than 1.1 million people occupying their final resting places, the Glasnevin Cemetery contains more souls than the current population of Dublin. From historical Ireland leaders to famed poets and civil rights activists, this hallowed ground is both beautiful and inspiring. This park was founded as a memorial to all the Irish soldiers who died in the two world wars. It is beautiful for a quiet stroll, close to Kilmainham Gaol, the IMMA and the Phoenix and made recent history with a visit from Queen Elizabeth.

    Gate Theatre

If there were six stars, I would be giving The Gate this! In my humble opinion, the best theatre company in Dublin. An intimate theatre of character that shows brilliant plays. Try to book early as it is a small theatre and frequently gets sold out. A big advantage of this theatre is that you can park your car round ...

    Moore Street Market

The market on Moore Street is well worth the short detour from the attractions on O'Connell Street. They sell fruit and vegetables, flowers, fish, and black-market cigarettes. A point of etiquette: the vendors will yell at you if you try to choose your own fruit. Don't even try. If this bothers you, there's a Tesco up the way a bit.

Running down the back side of the Temple Bar District of Dublin this is one of the more main roads in the area. It's possible to get some cheap eats here after an evening at the pubs.
