the Main Tourist attraction in all of Milan is this old Church still in use today. Go inside or on the roof. Dark inside and quiet but with amazing paintings. No pictures allowed even though a lot of people do it.

Was fortunate enough to be there on a bright sunny July day. Be sure to explore the rooftops. What a gorgeous plaza and memorable duomo. Entirely unforgettable.

While I was staying in Milano entirely one year back in 2004 and 2005, every morning had to pass by duomo to get to school. Back then duomo was under restoration construction. The front was all covered >.Recommended for:Backpackers

Milan's center of attraction could be all of the amazing food and restaurants. Or it could be all of the shopping you can do here. But the heart of the attraction is actually Duomo square and within it is the Milan Cathedral. It was built in 1386 and took 4 centuries to complete. The gothic Catholic Church offers amazing views of the city as well as beautiful architectural design both inside and out. I highly recommend taking the tour. It will take your breath away.

You must go to the roof. The views of the piazza from the rooftop are amazing, and looking at the abundance of statues and ornaments on it makes you wonder how much effort was invested into this beautiful building.

This gothic style masterpiece is breathtaking. It's the center of Milan and is surrounded by shopping and restaurants. Walking the inside of the church is free, but like most churchs, proper attire is required. No shorts or tank tops. A few euros will get you a ticket to the top, but you must climb the 200+ stairs or take a lift to get there. Once at the top, priceless views of Milan, the mountains and the church itself are yours. There's so much to see of this monsterous beauty I highly recommend buying the guide book from the gift shop. It's available in several languages and provides a history of the churches most iconic pieces.

Milan Cathedral (Italian: Duomo di Milano; Lombard: Domm de Milan) is the cathedral church of Milan, Italy. Dedicated to Santa Maria Nascente (Saint Mary Nascent), it is the seat of the Archbishop of Milan, currently Cardinal Angelo Scola.
The Gothic cathedral took nearly six centuries to complete. It is the fourth largest cathedral in the world and the largest in the Italian state territory.
