Walking from the metro station to the hotel, I could tell from the outside of the Dusit Thani that the building would be grand. Nonetheless, I was highly impressed as soon as I walked into the lobby. I didn't expect the lobby to be so visually and auditorily pleasing, from the bold Thai decor to the sounds of a woman playing the khim instrument. This type of decor continues in the deluxe room which is large and spacious, though the window is small for its size (for anyone that enjoys natural sunlight). The partially covered rooftop pool is also on the smaller end and not very deep, however I would appreciate the covering in the summer when the Dubai sun and heat gets excessive. The gym, though small, hosts all the basic equipment (treadmill, elliptical, free weights, etc.) and more while giving you a view of the pool. If you want to enjoy the cosmopolitan city that is Dubai, the hotel staff recommend trying out its multitude of restaurants, from themed food nights, to Thai, Italian, and Californian cuisine. I would definitely recommend guests partake in the hotel's Friday brunch, a famous tradition in Dubai, where the Dusit Thani adds its own flavour by including Thai dance performances.Recommended for:

Dusit Thani is on Sheikh Zayed Road close to the Downtown area, and has good views from many of the rooms of Burj Khalifa in Downtown. The hotel has a nice Thai decor, but the rooms are a little busy for my taste. There's a Thai restaurant on the first floor and a pool that's partially enclosed on the rooftop. The staff are nice; a lot of them are from Thailand. Most of the hotels on Sheikh Zayed Road are near the metro which is easy to use, so the hotels on Sheikh Zayed Road are convenient.Recommended for:

I liked the Dusit Thani, because like the Fortune Grand it had its own thing going. Concentrating on a traditional Thai décor, of course in a modern way with the high-tech glass tower, it had something to it. It is only a little walk away from the metro station and on the Sheikh Zayed Road. This can be useful, as you can access many places easily. Not to mention that the hotel offers free shuttle drives to all of the highlights of Dubai, such as the Dubai Mall, the World Trade Center and many more. But what I didn’t like was that it was really busy at the entrance, since it is a main road, like the Crown Plaza. Even if you don’t stay at this hotel, but you like Thai food, you should definitely try the Benjarong. According to the guest and staff it’s the best of Dubai.
