Located in Nungwi, East Africa Diving appeared to be one of the best run and oldest dive shops on that side of Zanzibar. It's run by a very friendly German couple who have been there for several years. They have a speed boat that takes you to the Mnemba Atoll in the east side of the island, but they only go if weather (wind) permits. We did one dive near Nungwi that was fairly unpleasant due to the currents (late December), but that of course was no fault of the dive shop. A bit expensive for a dive, but they take good safety precautions, are professional, and have excellent equipment. Highly recommended if you want to dive in Zanzibar.
