Fresh food, refreshingly not greasy but still with southern influences. Brunch is delicious. Traditional early American interior - wooden tables with a warm home-like atmosphere. The restaurant grows a lot of its own produce, and there's a smaller restaurant - dine in n out - right next door.

Eastside Cafe is a 1950's home converted to a gourmet cafe serving organically grown veggies (meander through their garden after dinner), free range beef and chicken and fresh fish from the Gulf with a flair far from the bar fare so popular in this college town. The setting is intimate, the food, delicious and the service, impeccable but not uppity at all. Small wonder my dad never got tired of me taking him here when he'd come up for a visit from Corpus. Oh, and there's an excellent selection of wines from the Texas Hill Country (and foreign varieties too) to complement your meal. Bon appetite!

Eastside Cafe is one of the first restaurants that brought people to eat on the inside. They have their own vegetable and herb garden so they have some great products that they use in their dishes. The food is pretty tasty, but i think they could do a better job highlighting the natural produce.
