While hiking Ecola, you'll often be stunned by beautiful views of the beaches stretching out far below. That is, when you're not surrounded on all sides by woodland wonderland. This is the land where Lewis and Clark finally arrived at the Pacific.

It is a state park that is right off the Cannon Beach exit on US 101. While there is a $5 day fee, the views that this park offers are worth it. Great place to have a picnic lunch.Recommended for:Outdoor Enthusiasts

Ecola State Park offers some of the most breathtaking and exquisite views to be found on the Oregon Coast. The park has several picnic areas with barbecues. From the parking lot, trails lead to several viewing points within the park. Take the trail up around the point for an excellent view of "Terrible Tilly," the Tillamook Rock Lighthouse. Bring your binoculars! Twice a year whales can be seen during their migration. If you're looking for a place to relax, inhale outrageous coast beauty and feel the stress blow away on the coastal wind, Ecola State Park will never disappoint you. There is something to take your breath away every day of the year - even on a dark and stormy afternoon . . .
The carnival scene from the movie “Kindergarten Cop” and the surfing scene in “Twilight” were filmed here. Spielberg’s “Goonies” race scene was at beach at Haystack Rock
Year-round, a fee of $5.00 per car is charged for day use.

A great Pacific NW beach with great views of the sea and bluff and rocks, and a great drive to get there. Also has hiking trails and camping. Remember, the water is cold and the ocean waves are powerful, so keep your eye on the sea.
