Set at a very busy intersection of NE Columbia/Martin Luther King Blvd. (MLK), this motel is a little better than expected. Although the motel name is enough to bore you to death, the motel does offer the basic comforts for a reasonably quick stay.
It is much and much the same as most of the better budget motels but it does try to give good value for a low budget price. The rooms are clean and include cable/satellite tv with HBO. Some rooms include a microwave and refrigerator.
A continental breakfast is provided and coffee is available in the lobby.
The attraction of the hotel is that it is economic, close to the Expo Center and Portland Raceway.
The staff is very keen to be of service. Good value for money!

While the Econo Lodge at the Expo Center is far from a dream hotel, it serves its purpose of offering cheap accommodation in a pretty convenient location for convention attendees. The staff are genuinely nice and, when I asked for the rates, they told me that it would be cheaper to book online than directly with the hotel, which I appreciated. The rooms are clean, come with AC, wifi, new TVs, and coffeemakers, and they have a light continental breakfast in the lobby (with English muffins--how often do you see that in a hotel)? And while the Econolodge is on one of Portland's ugliest intersections, at least it's relatively close to the airport and to downtown Portland and there's onsite parking. There's a Chinese restaurant next door and a few fast food chains around the neighborhood.Recommended for:Budget Travelers
