This is my absolute favorite place to stay in Ecuador. The hotel and cabin-style cottages are luxurious and cozy, and the hot springs are life changing! If you have a small group, I recommend the cottages as they offer a lot more privacy, a kitchenette, and each one has it's own private hot spring pool adjacent to it. There is ...Popular with

One of the most recent upscale hotels to open in Quito and so far the best one too. There are 31 rooms in this restored historic mansion, right in the city centre. High ceilings and some pleasant art deco pieces make the place feel stylish and airy. If possible, book the balcony garden suite, overlooking the hotel garden and with ...Popular with

So, the Hilton Colon is less charming than my last suggestion, but it's in the same part of town and is pretty much the nicest hotel you can get this close to the old city. The Colon is a bit of an older hotel, so its seen better days. However, because of this, it should be less expensive than the ...Popular with

Quite simply one of the finest hotels in all of Latin America. And the hotel staff was on the same par as this magnificent hotel. Although I had problems breathing in Quito's high altitude, the Marriott staff did everything they could to help get me through the first couple of days, including provide me with an oxygen tank.Popular with

Man, I can't say enough good things about this refugio. Perched between the Cotopaxi glacier and it's alpine lava field, the place feels like a cozy mountain lodge on Mars. This is where you stay over to climb the Cotopaxi Volcano, although sleepovers are also possible if you just want to experience the glacial environment without the harrowing climb.
