    La Ronda

    2 reviews

A stroll through La Ronda - a small but very representative neighborhood of Colonial Quito - is a good way to get a feeling of traditional life in Quito. It’s a romantic cobbled street just off the Plaza Santo Domingo (or it can be reached via Garcia Moreno by the City Museum). Within only two blocks of stucco buildings with ...

    Turtle's Head Pub & Microbrewery

    4 reviews

Turtle's Head is a great pub for grabbing a few beers, watching sports and playing pool or foosball. It's a hotspot for the ex-pat community and hosts a solid trivia night.

    Ceviche

    3 reviews

What sets Ecuadorean ceviche apart from other regions' ceviche like in Peru, is that it is more "soupy" and is accompanied by popcorn and plantain chips. This results in a very interesting party in the mouth!

    Tiesto's Cafe Restaurant

    2 reviews

This is hands down my favorite restaurant in the city. Excellent food, wonderful rustic décor and usually good service. I'm kind of a 'spice' freak and this is one place I can get my 'fix'.

    El Deck

    2 reviews

I was very exited of the place for its ambient and service. The food is delicious, especially desserts are a dream. They play live music, not too loud and it's still possible to talk. Definitely a place to go-back.

    Uncle Ho´s

    2 reviews

Really delicious Vietnamese food. The cuisine really tastes authentic and is nothing like the "chifa"--the local term for chinese food--restaurants that you'll find nearby. Try the pho or the summer rolls--and don't forget to order the peanut dipping sauce. Head here when you just can't stand to eat another plate of rice, chicken and shredded lettuce.

    Menestras del Negro

Fast food, Ecuadorian style! Let's see, pork chops, two eggs, rice and beans, half a fresh avocado, french fries (surprised plantain wasn't an option) - not exactly gourmet food but oh so filling!

    Multicomercio La Estación

    1 review

Food court, one block north of Parque Seminario. Choice of cheap eats and a couple of nice restaurants inside. I had the best ceviche on my South American trip at one of the stalls (I can't remember the name, I doubt it even has a name), when you walk in past the sign in the picture, it's the next to ...

    BBQ & Co.

Size really matters here, as "size matters" is BBQ & Co's logo and they stay true their logo: everything is big, HUGE portioned. The beers, the steak, and the appetizers. BBQ & Co is a sports bar right at the center of the Plaza Foch in the Mariscal area. The location is great for people watching and the service is ...

    Red Sushi

The only and possibly best Japanese restaurant in town. Red offers happy hour drinks specials as well as creatively presented Japanese dishes. Their main offers are sashimi/rolls (although limited by "western" standards) and they also offer local cuisine as in ceviches. We were happy with our selections, our ocean front view, and the service.

    Kallari Cafe

Dining in Ecuador doesn't get any greener than this. The Kallari Cafe is owned and operated by a cooperative of indigenous Kichwa people from the Amazon, practicing sustainable agriculture and low-impact marketing of chocolate products and crafts. The cafe is a delightful place to sample traditional cuisine or stock up on mouth-watering chocolate treats, made from local, organic cacao beans ...
