The Witchery's reputation proceeds it, and if you're looking for a restaurant for a special (and pricey) meal, I can't think of a more distinctive one in the city. I dined in the Secret Garden room, which was beautiful.Popular withHistoryFoodiesLuxury

This cosy pub is Scotland’s oldest!! Claims to have re-invigorated weary travellers since 1360! There's lots of history, not to mention a skittle alley & excellent food!Popular withHistoryLocal

It's easy to blink and miss Valvona & Crolla when you're walking down Elm Row, however it is a shame to walk by without discovering the mouthwatering delights hidden in the rabbit warren like store. Not for those counting pennies but if you're looking for something tasty this could be the deli for you.Popular withFoodies

Old fashioned afternoon tea with a modern twist! Gourmet sandwiches, scones with clotted cream & jam and a selection of mini patisserie all served up on a cute vintage cake stand with a pot of tea served in china cups & saucers!!

This is an excellent restaurant located in Leith. The menu is described as Scottish which means it relies on fresh, local ingredients but the cooking shows the chef has solid French training. It well deserves its Michelin star.Popular withFoodiesLuxury

This cozy little cafe is walkable from anywhere in town. They have anything from your traditional Scottish breakfast, to fresh salads, to high tea. We went for the soup and salad, both of which were fresh and affordable. I was tempted by the happy hour platter selection with byob no corking fees, but sadly will have to save it for ...

Had several meals there when I lived nearby and it was a welcome addition to the restaurant scene. Popular at weekends, worth booking ahead.

Some home cooking was just what I needed. Mums is a small, casual, and busy restaurant. Service was nice. The food was warm, comforting, and good. I ordered the 2 sausages with mash. I tried the special pork sausage with the devil's revenge over garlic mushroom mash potatoes. The sausages were tasty. The mash didn't have too much garlic flavor, ...
- 1730 Victoria Street, Edinburgh EH1 2 United Kingdom
This Old Town restaurant is on the very attractive Victoria Street. Calling its cuisine Scottish basically means it emphasizes local ingredients which result in favourful dishes. The wine list is fairly short but very reasonably priced. The name is because it is located in a former grain storage building and thus has interesting vaults within.Popular withFoodies
- 19Saint Mary's Street, United Kingdom
One of the best vegetarian restaurants I've been to in any city. Decor is minimalist but not cold, prices are reasonable and the menu is inspired. Even my meat-eating husband is a fan; carnivores definitely will not feel they're missing out. Standards may slip a bit during the Festival, but it's worth a visit at any time of year.Popular withVegetarian

This is my most favourite cafe in Edinburgh! It's nice and cozy, music isn't too loud, relaxing, wifi, friendly staff, great hot chocolates and cakes and pastries! I visit this place quite often and most of the time go for the usual pick: hot chocolate with either the almond tarte or carrot and raisin cake. It's not the cheapest place ...
