my not-so-hidden-gem :)
I celebrated my birthday here with my friends. Unfortunately my birthday is near Valentines day so there was a long line (mostly couples). We didn't get in til 12:30... thats what you get if you show up super late :/ We still had a lot of fun and the drinks were a hit or miss.
- Gorgeous Absinthe Fairy with her adorable cart
- lil absinthe bottles!!!!
- tons of places to take cool pictures
- the silent films projected onto the wall
- people dressed up in flapper themes
- sexy 1920s decor
- absinthe...not a huge black licorice fan and the flavor made it more funky
- dance area isn't as big so it could get crowded
Don't forget to look for the tiny room where they have a piano.
If you don't know what you want, ask the bartender to make you something cool :D
Best place to take people who are visiting from out of town :) or a girls night out

Did The Edison remodeled from a few years ago?? I don't remember it being so fancy and suave. lol.
Thanks to a good friend, I got a chance to come back again but this time for dinner and a Burlesque show. Food was delicious. Show was fun, and company was awesome!
Dress code enforced so dress to impress. Décor was stunning and restrooms are clean. Very entertaining venue with burlesque show and burlesque dancers off and on throughout the night.
Now the food and drinks...
Truffled Mac & Cheese - Delicious aromatic white chedder a slight crisp of Parmesan crust
Cabernet Braised Short Ribs : boneless short ribs served with mashed potatoes. My friends ordered this and praised how delicious and tender it is.
Sliders: 2 sliders in one order. Meat was deliciously tender.
The Merry Widow -pressed Panini like sandwiches stuffed with nutella and banana. YUM!
Open bottled wine was ordered. "The Seeker" 2011 California Chardonnay and Stags Leap 2010 Merlot.
Overall, enjoyed the venue, food, drinks and service! Would definitely come back and it's added highlight to downtown LA

**IDEAL LOUNGE FOR GROUP GATHERINGS IN DTLA**
It is located in an alley. You can park across the street for $7 and there is also metered parking.
Soft glowing lights, spacious, and "hipster upscale".
Dress to impress, people, because who goes out wearing gym shoes and Uggs?
Friendly doormen and bartenders.
$14 cocktails. Steep, so make sure to flirt.
Ordered a few Edisons and Old Fashioneds.
Not the best I've had, but it was good enough.
Friendly doormen and efficient bartenders. Staff was on-point.
Make sure to reserve a table ($50 PP) because it is definitely worth it if you plan to be there longer than 2 hours (eating and drinking).
And you can't bring outside goodies (e.g. cakes, cupcakes, etc.) without a table anyway.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND for meeting cool people, enjoying the aerial acrobats, and dancing to some Michael Jackson.Recommended for:Trendsters

Edison is a really great and popular bar with a unique interior. You will often see a line outside the bar to get in. There is something pretty cool about drinking very well-made cocktails inside an authentically distressed structure warmed by the glow of quintessential lightbulbs. The standout moment here for me was the Apple Martini--delicious, and they don't use the syrup-y Apply Pucker either! Wear swanky attire...this is not a shorts and sandals kind of joint!

I came to the Edison for their Thursday happy hour special which, at the time, involved paying something like 35 cents for a grilled cheese and a small bowl of tomato soup, and another 35 cents for a cocktail. WHAT? Yes. I know. Even though the specials are limited to one snack and one drink, I still felt like I had stepped back in time and my $20 now made me the richest woman alive (which I guess was the point).
The atmosphere is beautiful, with open light bulbs hanging from the ceilings and other Edison-inspired lighting decorating the place. I came fairly dressed up, and while there were some people who were in jeans, a lot of other people came looking spiffy.
There's a parking lot around the corner that you can use for a small fee; otherwise you'll need to find street parking.
Seriously. 35 cents for a cocktail on Thursday. This needs to be on your list.

If The Edison was a man, he would be Don Draper.
Classy, old fashioned, highly charismatic, dashingly charming.
One important thing to know is that men must wear dress shoes and slacks. No jeans and sneakers allowed in here!

I have a love hate relationship with the Edison I love the bar but I hate waiting in line. It's true come here before 10pm or else it will be a 10 to an hour to get in. The dress code is pretty strict so guys dress shoes and collared shirts. The décor is beautiful! Drinks are your typical LA prices, beers are around $7-8 and cocktails are $10-14? A shot from the "green fairy" will runs you $ 9 or $12 (sorry I forgot) and a drink will run you about $18. There isn't really anywhere to sit because all the tables say reserved. I think to reserve a table there is a minimum of $25 per person. But definitely a great place to hang out in DTLA.

This space is amazing. I couldn't believe my eyes when I first came here a while back-- the place is huge!! Two levels with multiple nooks and cranny's to snuggle up in with a date, or to get totally lost in. Edison totally has that speak-easy vibe, with dim lighting, and red furniture. Many nights they have live entertainment. I was here once for live salsa music, which was a blast. It's the kind of bar that makes you want to get dressed up just because.Recommended for:Art & Design Lovers
