The Breakers Diving & Surfing Lodge

The Breakers Diving & Surfing Lodge

The Breakers is a great place to chill out and concentrate on sports. It is located on the peninsula of Soma Bay, where luxury hotels dominate so this lodge impresses with a totally straightforward and relaxed style. The hotel manager is a sporty laid-back German kitesurfer and that style is reflected in the whole place like you rarely find in ...

The best hotel in all of Cairo! We stay here every time we travel to Egypt. The rooms are amazingly modern (new section) and most have a Pyramid view. The Giza Plateau is only a couple minute walk up to the entrance. One of my favorite things about this hotel is it's Classic Egypt. Originally a Palace built in the ...

Another wonderful Four Seasons experience. The best staff, amazing food (especially the breakfast buffet), wonderful swimming pools and private beach. Not cheap- but almost worth it. Only negative- the rooms are spacious and luxurious but not decorated to my taste. A bit old lady...

This is a beautiful hotel to have a meeting in, and it is right on the Nile. The only problem is breathing the air, both inside (cigarettes) and out (the cars). I love it, but I couldn't live there.

Stayed here with our 13 year old son, during the October half term break. It was unusually hot, testing the high 30's C but we had an extremley enjoyable time. It is what it is, touristy, a bit cheesy and busy. The walk outside the hotel takes you aroung Naama Bay and all the touristy restaurants, ranging from the local ...

Amazing, heavenly and super quiet. The bathroom was larger than my living room at home. Marble everywhere, lovely hardwood floors in the bedrooms, super soft sheets and incredibly friendly staff. The only down side is it's near the airport and very far from most of the tourist attractions in Cairo.

I'm always in two minds when it comes to staying in one of the 'chain gang' and if you travelled frequently to Eastern Europe and Arab countries during the 1970s, Intercontinental often used to be the only option for something of a decent international standard. Make no mistake, the Intercontinental Semiramis is an architectural monstrosity - like so many of ...

A monument to all that's truly awful about international chain hotels - isolated on its own piece of land and sticking up two fingers to the culture and history of the area, not least through its uncompromising architecture. Still most of the rooms enjoy splendid views over the Nile and Garden City. There are more amusing, esoteric touches like finding ...

Exquisite. Location is key when lounging by the Nile. Sofitel packs the magic of all things Egyptian :from hotel decor, to the mesmerizing Nile to the distant Pyramids to the authentic cuisine choices. It's an oasis in the otherwise chaotic Cairo. Beautiful hotel on the fairly upscale "island" of Zamalek, which is located just outside downtown Cairo. The hotel grounds are immaculately maintained, and the decor is richly ornate. There are several gift shops, and restaurants on the property, including a bakery/cafe and a very good sushi restaurant. The rooms are clean, spacious and not overly done. The only downside is ...
