Eileen Blake's isn't so much a restaurant but a small gazebo found at the end of a sandy driveway off State Road in Vineyard Haven. First established by baking goddess Eileen Blake, the stand is now run by her family and provides the same mouth-watering pies that made Blake an island celebrity. The current best seller is Blueberry Peach, though my favorite is Triple Berry pie - and I swear, I have never had a better pie than the one made here. The fruit is always fresh, the crust is always flaky, and if you don't get there early you'll be forced to imagine what a true pie is supposed to taste like. Pies cost around $14, and the gazebo closes when all the pies are sold. And trust me, it doesn't take very long for that to happen.
