Possibly the best kept secret of Napa Valley area accommodation circuit that is in plain sight. El Bonita is a motel along the 29. It is only a motel by virtue of the fact that you will park right outside of your room as in a "motor hotel". But its motel connection stops there. Clean, brightly lite, and spacious with ensuite bathrooms are their rooms and quite a selection of offerings they have. There's the pool view (which essentially is street front), garden view (which is in the back and more secluded with patios that extends out to the vast grassy area). Room rates include continental breakfast and friendly reception.
The fact that El Bonita is on the 29 in St Helena means it is just minutes from world renown wineries and awesomely wonderful restaurants. I am beginning to get this uneasy feeling that the secret may be out about the hotel's great value and awesome location. Online bookings is very easy but should be done weeks in advanced although a quick phone call might reveal additional availability. El Bonita has my vote for best value for comfortable accommodations, friendly services, and great location in the Napa/St. Helena area.
