Much less crowded than other Santa Barbara beaches, "El Cap" has good parking, and even an overnight camping area for vacationers looking to rough it — that is, as rough as drive-in camping at a beautiful beach can be. Just 15 miles north of Santa Barbara off Highway 101, it's an easy trip from town.Recommended for:

About a 20-minute drive northwest of Santa Barbara, this is a gorgeous SoCal Beach where you'll find tons of families camped out on weekends in tents and RVs. Play beach volleyball on the sand, ride the cycling path along the shoreline, or splash in the water (warmest during summer, but too chilly to swim in winter).Recommended for:
