El Club Allard

C/ Ferraz, 2, 28008 Madrid, Spain
1 review

I can't imagine visiting Madrid without a meal here. Every course is presented like a work of art, and the egg dessert is too die for. If I gave out Michelin stars, Chef Diego Guerrera would have more than two (but then again, I'd give him one star for being handsome and charming). . .

Great tapas bar! They have locations in Madrid and Granada, and we went to both. Free tapas if your drinking ( even in Madrid! ), great chorizo and other meats. We also ate there for lunch and the meals were a great value and very tasty. Would recommend to all.

Our 2nd meal in Madrid was at Cafe y Tapas. We were hungry after a nap at the hostel and made our way out to lunch. We had passed Cafe y Tapas earlier and noted where it was. Service on the terrace is available at an extra fee; lucky for us it was freezing out so we sat inside. We ...

    Chocolatería San Gines

0.59 mi from El Club Allard
    35 reviews

Chocolatería San Ginés is one of those institutions that everyone goes to or stumbles to depending on the time of day. This place is open all day and all night. When the clubs close at 6 am, you can find most party-goers that haven't gone home here stuffing themselves silly with chocolate and a plate of hot churros. These aren't ...

Tasty food, good and nice service. I've been here like four times and none of them was a bad experience. Also it's cheap in relation to the quality, so yeah, I would come back.

    La Mallorquina

0.67 mi from El Club Allard

Known to many as a Madrid institution, La Mallorquina has been around since 1894, and since then has been providing some of the yummiest pastries to be found in the city center. But this pastry shop also is a great place to grab a cup of coffee, especially in the upstairs salon. If you’re lucky and get a window seat, ...

Strolling through the Chueca in Madrid we find this historic market that has been renovated much like other buildings like this both in this city and in other capitals Europe. The building is divided into three floors, on the first floor we find the traditional market stalls selling food, albeit with a fair amount of posts "gourmet" in foods that ...

This is a great family restaurant that is famous for its Madrilenian cocido, a stew with vegetables and meats (chicken, pork, etc.). I loved the orange broth and the pasta part of the stew but I was a bit squeamish about the pork and chicken because it was on the bone. I learned that I'm a wimpy carnivore because the ...

A great spot in Madrid for Flamenco. Be sure to stay late (after most of the tourists leave) for the second showing (usually around 1am). Get tickets beforehand, but don't go for dinner (too pricey and not worth it), just go for the drink/tapa.

Lateral serves of reasonably priced Spanish fusion cuisine. There are several locations, but I prefer the one in Plaza de Santa Ana. Just be sure to watch your bags - there are lots of pickpocketers in the area.

One of my favorite restaurants to have dinner (behind the bar) or a drink with tapas standing at the bar. Located around the corner from our vacation rental apartment (VRBO# 378068) in La Latina District. A great place to stop for some delicious port, shrimp skewers (with amazing dipping sauce), and cheap beer. The true experience of a Spanish tapas spot where they don't toss trash in a bin, but on the floor when they're done eating.
