Lovely, relaxing lake downtown across from del monte beach close to the fisherman's wharf, with paddle boat rental, children's play ground, skateboard park, dog park, exercise sets around the lake!

Your kids might not know who Dennis the Menace was, but this park's Dennis-themed outdoor playspace for kids has been a Monterey tradition for decades. Plus, you can rent boats at the lake in El Estero Park. A great day out in Monterey, especially if kids (or, why not, adults) don't want to be cooped up in museums or indoors all day.
