This is the place for sunset, and actually sunrise is quite nice here too. As the sun starts descending, fishermen come out to try their luck, and as the darkness sets in friends and couples come to hang out. Definitely plan a sunset walk along here.

I've had many many great nights hanging out on the Malecon!
During the day, it's a beautiful stroll along the meeting place of city and ocean. When the waves are strong enough they'll burst right over the wall onto the street, so watch out!
At night, this is THE hangout. People of all ages gather along the Malecon wall, sing songs, drink rum, and enjoy the cool ocean breeze.

This beautiful historic lighthouse is right on the Havana semi-circular waterfront. The beautiful semi-circle is a bit crumbly from 50+ years of limited upkeep, but it is still elegant, and the lighthouse is still gorgeous. I would recommend going to Havana before it all falls down. You may still have to launder your trip through Nassau or Mexico, but it's definitely worth it, and they're waiting for you!
