I don't know a thing about authentic Mexican food but my son wanted to eat at El Paseo, so we did just that. We didn't sit out on the patio - which was totally buzzin' and seemed like the spot to sit. I think it would have been nice, having the opportunity to watch everyone walk around Olvera Street but we did sit inside at a lovely booth. The service was quick enough, the chips and salsa were very good. Nice thick corn tortilla chips not the little flimsy ones that break when you try to scoop a little salsa up with them. The salsa was very flavorful and had a nice little kick.
I ordered a strawberry margie and it was quite delish! $11 - hmmm - not so sure about that, it may be better to drink up during Happy Hour at this joint.
The Verde flautas were SOOO good! The rice and beans that came along were good. My son had the taquito kids meal and seemed to like it.
Mariachis were a very nice touch, we love live entertainment - that's certainly a plus to the sit down restaurants down here. We will certainly return but I'd also like to try a bunch of the other smaller little places next time as well.Recommended for:

I decided to pop in for a Margarita and what better place than Olvera St. Service was good, the prices were decent and there was tons of atmosphere! Can't wait to go back and try the food.Recommended for:
