This is a great street to talk a stroll...there are art galleries, high end shops, and restaurants. One of the highlights are the art sculptures in the middle of the boulevard. They change every three years, and artists apply to be part of the exhibit. At the far end of El Paseo is the Palm Desert branch of the Palm Springs art museum. They have exhibits that change and an excellent outdoor sculpture gardenRecommended for:

A Six Minute Walk From Your Vacation Home
Palm Desert’s impressive mile-long shopping district. Known as the "Rodeo Drive of the Desert," has a mix of more than 300 shops offers everything you could ask for. Jewelry, apparel, art, home décor and more than two dozen restaurants, cafes and bakeries – and many with outdoor terraces patios. This is the perfect place for lunch, coffee or a glass of wine between shops.

A lot of high end fashion and jewelry shops including many art galleries. Haven't spent much time walking thru this area yet, but is considered the Rodeo Drive of the Desert. Maestro's restaurant is located here. Probably my favorite steak house.
