Simple simple simple. That are the best three words to describe this place. It is a simple place, no warm water, outhouse bathroom and very little electricity. Staying at El Solar is much like camping... and I loved it.

This place would be nothing w/o the wonderful woman who runs the place. Martha greets all her customers with a warm hug and kiss, literally. She is very sincere and very warming. Loves talking to all of her guests. When staying at her place all worries just melt away.

Although in Villa De Leyva, it is different then the rest of the town as it further from the square and is a bit more nature like. Also the place is further than most attractions, making taxis charge 3,000 -4,000 pesos for a short ride from the terminal. It is a short easy walk, Villa De Leyva is not a large town.
