Charming, elegant, and luxurious; the words that came to my mind upon entering the Eliot Hotel’s marble plated lobby. Each room is a ‘luxury suite’, with glass doors holding down the privacy of the bed from the parallel living room. My room was equipped with a flatscreen television, coffee maker, and fully stocked mini-bar. Gym passes are provided to the nearby Boston Sports Club. On the ground floor adjacent from the street, is a French restaurant, Clio, and sashimi bar, Uni, that are both critically acclaimed. With all these great features, I expected the pricey tag that goes along with it. But if you can afford it, the Eliot Hotel is sure to be a great stay in Boston.Recommended for:

The Eliot hotel is a bit more lavish and glamorous than what I am used to, but I'm not complaining! Most of the rooms are suites, with ample space for hanging out with friends and family, and many of them overlook Kenmore Square. While you can tell the building is on the older side, the rooms are incredibly clean and the decor is, for the most part, up-to-date and modern without losing that old Boston charm. It's an ideal spot for a relaxing Boston getaway, with easy access to Fenway, Newbury Street and so many great restaurants.Recommended for:

The only reason I didn't rate this higher is due to the high price. The suite has some nice amenities such as a soft, cushy and comfortable bed, large computer monitor at the desk, large shower, robes and nice toiletries. However, I did feel rather cramped in the bathroom. My brush, toothbrush, make-up, etc were continually falling off the tiny shelf and into the sink.
The staff is wonderful and it is in a safe neighborhood.

This hotel definitely has an old charm to it, which is not what I am used to. Though the rooms were renovated and looked nice, I feared our room was haunted because one of the lights in the bathroom would turn on and off randomly. We also heard some random squeaking noises here & there, which we attributed to either old pipes or mice. The bathrooms are spacious, but a bit out dated. It's been ages since I've used a shower/tub combo!
Service was great here, upon check-in we were upgraded to a large and comfy suite. Valet service takes at least 30 minutes to get your car, so make sure to call in advance. Instead of key cards like most hotels, we got a big lunky old-fashioned key. On the flip side, our room was equipped with a touch-screen computer offering free internet and other guest services.
Room service is pretty good, as long as you order during the day and stick to items that come from the restaurants downstairs (Clio and Uni Sashimi Bar). Late-night room service however is horrible. At 3am, we ordered "baked macaroni with Vermont cheddar cheese and bread crumbs" and "two slices of cheese pizza with fresh basil, parmesan cheese, and olive oil"...but what we got was pretty much easy-mac and soggy microwaved pizza. Yuck!
